For the first time ever, tournament players will be able to compete for a $10,000 seat to the prestigious Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge (BCBC) for an entry fee of just $50.
The low-risk, high-reward event takes place this Friday, July 28, at HorsePlayers in a 10-race competition that gets under way at 3:48 p.m. ET and is expected to last just over two and a half hours. Contest races are the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th from Saratoga; the 7th and 8th from Ellis Park; and the 3rd, 4th and 6th races from Woodbine.
The special BCBC qualifier will utilize the popular Pick & Pray format that requires all selections to be placed prior to the running of the first contest race.
One BCBC entry is guaranteed to be awarded regardless of participation levels. Entries are limited to a maximum of three per person, and should there be more than 233 entries, up to five $50 consolation prizes will be awarded. As with all HorsePlayers tourneys, free Equibase PPs for all contest races will be provided to all who enter.
The Friday qualifier offers a great opportunity for budget-minded players to compete for a coveted BCBC spot for a significantly lower entry fee than is customary for other online and onsite contests. Several $50 qualifiers for the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) have been held this year at HorsePlayers, and all were very enthusiastically supported.
So if you’re planning to play the races on Friday, you may want to consider setting $50.00 aside for this special game.
It could mean a Breeders’ Cup that you’ll never forget.
