The Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge is just over a week away, and so we are ramping up qualifiers to the world’s most prestigious live-bankroll tournament this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A total of eight guaranteed qualifiers to the BCBC will be offered during the upcoming weekend. The first two of those take place on Friday at HorsePlayers.
As is the case on most Fridays, HorsePlayers will offer a Low Ratio Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge Pick & Pray. The winning ratio is 1-per-23, and at least one $10,000 seat will be awarded regardless of participation.
There will also be a $179, 1-per-65 BCBC Pick & Pray. It, too, guarantees at least one entry in the prize pool.
The other Friday feature at HorsePlayers is a $75 NHC Pick & Pray with two March 2024 spots certain. The winning ratio is 1-per-143.
The Friday feature at HorseTourneys is an HT Tour event.
It’s a $15,000 Guaranteed, No Limit Pick & Pray. An upfront stake of $190 will get you into the game.
The 10 contest races on Friday are the 5th through 9th from Keeneland; the 6th through 8th at “Belmont at Aqueduct” and races 4 and 5 from Santa Anita.
Three more BCBC play-ins come your way on Saturday at HorsePlayers.
Similar to Friday, there will be both a $179 BCBC qualifier with a winning ratio of 1-per-65 and a $500 play-in with a winning ratio of 1-per-23. On Saturday, there will also be a Super Low Ratio qualifier, which carries a $1,000 entry fee and a winning ratio of 1-per-11. Each of these Saturday qualifiers guarantee at least one $10,000 seat winner. Note that all three of these tourneys will be operated in Live format.
Four marquee games are on the menu at HorseTourneys on Saturday.
The richest tourney of the week is Saturday’s $25,000 Guaranteed game. The buy-in for this Live-format, No-Limit battle is $350, and the game also serves as the day’s HT Tour event.
Saturday’s lone Pick & Pray is our $7,000 Guaranteed Big Bucks tourney, which carries an entry fee of $1,150. Total entries are limited to 20, with the winner grabbing 70 percent of the net pool, the runner up getting 20 percent, and the third-place contestant picking up the remaining 10 percent. If we reach the maximum entry count of 20, the total purse will exceed $20,000.
We go back to Live-format for Saturday’s Del Mar Fall Handicapping Challenge qualifier. It’s a 1-per-15 competition with entries setting costing $236 apiece. Winner(s) get a $3,000 entry for November 25th—playable on-track or at TVG.com.
The chance to qualify for the NHC exists here at HorseTourneys on Saturday via a “regular,” $165 play-in. It’s a Live-format event with two March 2024 seats guaranteed and a winning ratio of 1-per-65.
The 12 contest races for Saturday are the 5th through 10th from the closing day card at Keeneland; the 1st, 5th and 6th at Santa Anita; and the 9th through 11th at “Belmont at the Big A.” Closing time is slated for 3:08 pm ET.
On Sunday, HorsePlayers once again plays host to three Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge qualifiers.
Again, there are three options to choose among—a $179, 1-per-65 game, a $500, 1-per-23 get together and a $1,000, 1-per-11 high-end affair. Each qualifier guarantees at least one $10,000 seat for the following weekend, and each qualifier will be contested in Live format.
