Next $100,000 Tourney Set for Saturday, December 2

HorseTourneys is proud to announce Saturday, December 2 as the date of what will be our third $100,000 tournament of the year. (Really our third ever–since we just started offering them this year!)

On that Saturday, which marks the biggest day of the current Aqueduct meeting and opening day of the Gulfstream Park winter meeting, one talented contest player will join Victor Mendes Sr. and Howard Welsh on the short list of six-figure tournament winners here at HorseTourneys.

Victor Mendes, Sr.–winner of our first $100,000 tourney last August.
October $100,000 game winner Howard Welsh

The live-format competition will have a guaranteed purse of $70,000, and the pot will swell from there as we approach our limit of 161 entries. Should we sell out, the total purse will be six figures.

You can buy in now for $695. Entries are limited to three per account. But as you might expect, we will offer a wide array of Round 1 and Round 2 feeders that will allow you to qualify for the December 2 headliner for as little as $35. And those feeders are available right now.

How did we decide on December 2 as the date of the next big tourney?

We’ve always been big fans of the exciting Thanksgiving weekend menu of racing at Aqueduct each year—especially their Saturday-after-Thanksgiving card that offered such important end-of-year races as the Cigar Mile, the Remsen, the Demoiselle and the Go For Wand.

Well guess what? NYRA moved those four big races to the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving weekend this year, and so we positioned our big contest to coincide with Aqueduct’s top stakes offerings. But that’s not the only reason.

That December 2 date has the added benefit of being opening day at Gulfstream. Which means Claiming Crown Day. Which should mean large, competitive fields of some of America’s top blue-collar runners. In short, we hope to be able to offer a set of contest races that will be delightfully challenging and yield a highly deserving winner.

So make your plans now to spend the first Saturday of December with us (or at least with your laptop or your phone). It should be a really terrific end-of-year contest.
