As some of you may have seen, we have a $5,000 Charity tourney scheduled for the Fourth of July. Actually, it’s a $6,000 charity tourney, because there will be $5,000 in the pot but the winner will get an additional $1,000 to donate to his or her choice of the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. Cash payouts will go to the top 10 finishers.
Perhaps best of all, you can get into it for free.
As a thank you to our loyal HorseTourneys competitors who have played $250 or more over the past year, we are offering free feeders to the charity tourney pretty much every day between now and the Fourth. Finish in the top five in one of those feeders, and you will have a July 4th freeroll.
If you’re not lucky enough to qualify for the July 4th tourney but would still like to participate and/or contribute, all is not lost!
After the final feeder takes place, we will unlock the gates and allow all HorseTourneys account holders to buy in for $50. All of our proceeds from those buy-ins will be equally distributed among the three charities…so the more that play, the more the charities will receive (over and above, of course, the $1,000 that the winner will be contributing).
