HorseTourneys Announces the $100,000 Gtd. Flo-Cal Faceoff on Feb. 29-March 1, 2020

Introducing the Flo-Cal Faceoff.

The newest big-money, online cash game at HorseTourneys will take place on Saturday and Sunday, February 29 and March 1, 2020. The Flo-Cal Faceoff is a two-day, all-mandatory tourney with a guaranteed purse of $100,000 and no limit as to how high the purse can grow beyond that guaranteed minimum. The buy-in is $1,500, and low-cost feeders will be hosted at HorseTourneys regularly between now and next February.

Faceoff contestants will be required to make a mythical $2 win and place play on every race of the Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Park cards each day. Saturday, February 29th figures to be an especially big day of racing at Gulfstream with the running of that day’s Fountain of Youth Stakes for 3-year-olds, plus several other added-money events.

The Flo-Cal Faceoff is modeled closely after the Spa & Surf Showdown, which HorseTourneys offered for the first time last August 3-4. In the Spa & Surf Showdown, renowned tournament player Paul Shurman of Dix Hills, N.Y., won $109,000 by defeating 153 rivals in a two-day, all-mandatory competition that featured full-card action from Saratoga and Del Mar. The Showdown closed with a total purse of $272,000, which was paid out to the top 15 finishers.

One new twist to the Flo-Cal Faceoff, relative to the Spa & Surf Showdown, will be the introduction of day money. A total of $20,000 ($10,000 each day) will be paid to the top three daily finishers on a $6,500/$2,500/$1,500 basis.

One small disclaimer: It is not anticipated to do so–but should the date of the Fountain of Youth Stakes shift between now and next February, the dates of the Faceoff will shift accordingly.

You can win a $1,500 seat to the Flo-Cal Faceoff for a fraction of the cost via feeders and qualifiers starting tomorrow at HorseTourneys.

Feeder buy-ins start at just $20. Direct qualifiers carry an entry fee of $86, and the first of those will take place this Sunday. For more information, visit the Flo-Cal Faceoff “Contest Description” page right here on our site.
