Three Guaranteed NHC Qualifiers, Three Flo-Cal Faceoff Play-Ins and New, Low-Cap Cash Tourney Among the Friday, Saturday, Sunday Highlights

With the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge in the books, the NHC takes over the sole spotlight at HorsePlayers. Meanwhile, there continue to be many different attention-grabbing featured events here at HorseTourneys.

The weekend’s 20 marquee games get rolling on Friday.

The HT Tour cash game on Friday is a $20,000 Guaranteed Pick & Pray. The entry fee is $190.

On each day of the weekend, we’ll be hosting a $118, 1-per-15 qualifier to the $250,000 Guaranteed Flo-Cal Faceoff here on January 14-15. Winners receive a $1,500 berth into the first leg of the 2023 Tourney Triple.

It’s an oldie but goodie on Friday at HorsePlayers.

What else? A $75 NHC Pick & Pray with two seats guaranteed and a winning ratio of 1-per-143. Entries are limited to three per person. Remember—you must be a 2022 NHC Tour member, prior to the start of the contest, in order to be eligible for an NHC package in this or any other NHC qualifier. If you’re not a member, you can become one quickly and easily at NTRA.com for a $50 membership fee.

The 10 Friday contest races are the 8th and 9th from Aqueduct; the 7th through 9th at Woodbine; and the 4th through 8th on the opening-day card at Del Mar.

It’s a “Pick & Pray weekend” this week, so most of our Saturday—and Sunday—features will be operated in “set it and forget it” mode…including the day’s HT Tour competition.

That one is a $30,000 Guaranteed Pick & Pray. It requires an upfront investment of $350.

As noted earlier, we’ll again offer a $118 qualifier on Saturday to the $250,000 Guaranteed Flo-Cal Faceoff. Once more, it will be a Pick & Pray.

There’s also a brand new contest—and format—to consider on Saturday. For the first time, we’ll be running a cash tourney with win-and-place payoff caps set at 12-1 (to win) and 6-1 (to place) rather than the usual 20-1 and 12-1. The game in question is a $2,000 Guaranteed Pick & Pray with an entry fee of just $25. If 15-1-or-greater winners aren’t really your thing, then this competition just might be.

Another new entry in the HorseTourneys lineup is a qualifier to the on-track Lone Star Fall Simulcast Betting Challenge on December 3. Saturday’s Pick & Pray qualifier (with the customary 20-1/12-1 price caps in place) calls for a $79 entry fee. One of every 15 players will earn a $1,000 entry into the LSFSBC.

Also on the Saturday menu are qualifiers to two different events that both get under way on November 26.

At Del Mar (or TVG.com) is the Del Mar Fall Challenge, a single-day, $3,000 buy-in affair. Our Saturday Pick & Pray qualifier costs $236 to play and 1 of every 15 entrants will advance.

Also on Saturday, November 26, is the first of two separate Hawthorne Thanksgiving Contests. One of every 10 entrants in our $118 Hawthorne qualifier this Saturday get $1,000 with which to fund both Chicagoland contests (one on Saturday the 26th and another one the following day).

We’ll also have a Saturday qualifier to the $50,000 Guaranteed Exacta Extravaganza here on December 3-4. It will be run in Live, Exacta format. In Exacta-format games, players make a mythical, three-horse exacta box selection in each contest race, and there are no price caps in effect. (You get the full payoff added to your score if you hit a big one.) This play-in requires a fee of $89, and winners (1-per-10) earn a $750 seat for the two-day, exotic tourney.

Last but not least is Saturday Big Bucks Pick & Pray. It’s an “up-to-$20,000” game with a purse guarantee of $10,000. Entries—at $1,150 each—are limited to 20 (unless we get a late arrival or two from last-minute Saturday feeders…in which case the pot will exceed $20,000). Payouts go just to the top three finishers with the winner collecting 70 percent of the net pool, the runner up getting 20 percent, and the third-place finisher picking up the remaining 10 percent.

The one Live-format, win-and-place tourney on Saturday takes place over at HorsePlayers.

It’s a “regular,” 1-per-65 NHC play-in with two seats to the 2023 event guaranteed. You can play for $165.

The Saturday contest races will be the 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th from Gulfstream; the 7th, 8th and 10th at Woodbine; and the 5th through 9th from Del Mar—12 races in all

We close out the weekend with eight featured events on Sunday. Most of them are Pick & Prays.

Sunday’s HT Tour skirmish is our $20,000 Guaranteed Pick & Pray, which carries an entry fee of $250.

The other Sunday cash feature is our Big Bucks tourney—an up-to-$20,000 game with a purse guarantee of $7,000. Total entries are limited to 20 (at $1,150 per entry), and payouts go solely to the top three finishers. This one will be hosted in Live format, as are all of our Sunday Big Bucks competitions.

We also have Sunday Pick & Pray qualifiers to the Flo-Cal Faceoff ($118 buy-in), the Del Mar Fall Challenge ($236), the Hawthorne Thanksgiving contests ($118) and the Lone Star Fall Simulcast Betting Challenge ($79).

Also on tap: A live-format play-in to the $50,000 Guaranteed Exacta Extravaganza. Again, the “EE” qualifier will be an Exacta Box test (not win-and-place).

The NHC has the HorsePlayers stage to itself once again on Sunday.

The Sunday HP feature is a live-format NHC qualifier with a special entry fee of $210. That works out to a winning ratio of 1-per-50. As was the case on Friday and Saturday, this NHC play-in guarantees two spots.

Whichever format, price point, prize package—or odds cap—you choose,  good luck!
